The Juke Box E from Pro-Ject has been designed as a Plug'n' play turntable, so you will be able to quickly and simply get your vinyl spinning. The turntable has an integrated phono stage, a Bluetooth receiver, a built-in pre-amplifier and a power amplifier all in one stylish, compact package.
The result of the design is that, you the listener, will only need to add a pair of speakers to give you a complete hi-fi system. The ntegrated amplifier has plenty of power and will give a great dynamic sound. Also, the turntable has a moving-magnet phono stage, which is based on Pro-Ject's acclaimed Phono Box technology. Their is a a wireless Bluetooth input for CD-level streaming from a compatible smart device, and an additional Line input. The result is a turntable that is versatile for any modern source that can easily be added to the Juke Box E system.
The turntable itself is based on the popular Pro-Ject Primary design with some modifications. Requiring no complicated set-up, the turntable includes premium features like an 8.6 aluminium tonearm with sapphire bearings, Ortofon OM 5E cartridge, perimeter belt-drive operation and a low-vibration synchronous motor with reliable speed stability. To set up the turntable, their is not any need to adjust the anti-skate or counter-balance settings, you simply need to fit the drive belt and you are ready to start listening. With gold-plated RCA connectors and isolated speaker terminals on the rear panel, the Juke Box E carries a sense of prestige. The whole construction gives an air of superiority, thanks to the thick, heavy high-gloss plinth, luxurious aluminium pulley, an included removable dust cover, special decoupling feet and the intuitive display on the top-chassis.Operating the turntable is very simple thanks to the volume and input information shown on the display, and the 32-step digital potentiometer; with added push function for switching inputs, allowing you to set playback at exactly your desired volume. The included remote control allows you to switching inputs and adjust the volume, in addition to accessing Bass and Treble adjustment and a Loudness boost. What Hi-Fi Award 2018 "Best turntable system" (What Hi-Fi magazine).Right from the off, this is recognisably a Pro-Ject turntable - it carries the brand's sonic signature as surely as some sports brands carry three stripes. (What Hi-Fi Magazine April 2018).
In essence, that signature is one of easy-going fidelity - the Juke Box E establishes a decently spacious soundstage and positions instruments upon it securely in their own space even as they integrate and interact together. It's untroubled by even tricky tempos or gimpy rhythms; it has reasonable shine and brilliance at the top end; its midrange reproduction is detailed enough to make Eno's sometimes rather approximate vocals endearing in their earnestness... The overall quality of sound remains constant no matter how you use the JBE. In essence, the Pro-Ject Juke Box E is something of a rarity. It's an all-in-one system that demands very few compromises, given its price. It's also an all-in-one system that we can't easily argue against in favour of separates.
Plus it's extremely convenient. So if space is at a premium, funds are (relatively) tight, or both, you should cast your glance in this direction. Far less compromised than you might imagine, the Juke Box E makes a genuine case for itself...True just-add-speakers convenience, capable, even-handed sound, good range of features (What Hi-Fi Magazine April 2018).
